Strength: Squat – Focus on form – bar placement (high vs. low.), squeezing bar and thinking of squeezing elbows back to touch, short methodical walkout, locked knees and tighten up before squat. To work on staying tight we will work the slow tempo squat (4 counts down, 2 counts up) 5 sets of 8 reps at 45-50% of your 1RM.

Today’s WOD is in remembrance of U.S. Army First Lieutenant Ashley White, 24, of Alliance, Ohio, who was assigned to the 230th Brigade Support Battalion, 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, North Carolina National Guard, based in Goldsboro, North Carolina, who died on October 22, 2011 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when insurgents attacked her unit with an improvised explosive device. She is survived by her husband Captain Jason Stumpf, her parents Robert and Deborah, brother Josh, and sister Brittney.
